Before starting work clear the lawn of any objects such as stones or sticks that would damage the Scarifier or be thrown out at dangerously high speeds by the rotating blades.

THE BLADES MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE GROUND.
Mount the grass bag onto the Scarifier by raising the ejection guard and sliding the grass bag frame lugs into the locating slots each side of the axle frame.

The CAMON Lawn Scarifier is designed to allow light, air and water to the roots of grass to keep it healthy. It does this by removing thatch which is made up of organic debris such as cut grass, leaves and dead moss that has not decomposed.
The machine must NOT be used as a slitter or aerator as the blades will damage the lawn, and the machine will be damaged.
Always use the machine at maximum engine speed.
Empty the grass bag frequently.
If the Scarifier should strike a stone or similar object, STOP the engine immediately and wait for the blades to stop rotating. Inspect the Scarifier for damage and if in any doubt contact your supplier.
For engine maintenance please refer to engine manufacturers manual.
After every hour of operation:

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a scarifier used for?
A scarifier is used to remove moss, thatch, and dead organic material from the surface of the lawn. By doing so, it improves the air, water, and nutrient penetration to the grassroots, resulting in a healthier lawn.
How often should I scarify my lawn?
You should scarify your lawn once or twice a year, depending on the condition of the grass. The ideal times are typically in spring and autumn, as these seasons allow for recovery and regrowth of the grass.
Can a scarifier damage my lawn?
If used incorrectly or too frequently, a scarifier can damage your lawn by ripping up too much healthy grass. However, when used properly, it will help maintain the lawn’s health by removing the harmful thatch layer and promoting better growth.
What is the difference between a scarifier and a lawn aerator?
While both scarifiers and aerators aim to improve lawn health, a scarifier removes moss and thatch from the lawn’s surface, whereas a lawn aerator creates holes in the soil to further improve root access to air, water, and nutrients if necessary.
